Submitted by Angel (Owner) I didn't like this pairing when I first heard about it. The only person I liked Kikyou with when I started watching the show was InuYasha. That's after I got over my initial dislike of her. I always liked Naraku. Unfortunately this pairing is only one sided canon. In the Manga
Naraku does finally admit that his wish was Kikyou. If only those feelings were mutual they could have been an interesting couple. Originally the plan with the jewel was for Kikyou to kill InuYasha and wish to live thereby tainting the jewel. Naraku would have gotten the jewel and Kikyou. That didn't work out. I think their personalities are quite simular and I think that Naraku is a much better match for Kikyou than InuYasha. I don't think Kikyou would have to worry about any rival when it comes to Naraku. Sadly Naraku said at death that he could not go where Kikyou was. Even in death he wanted to be with Kikyou.

Naraku and Kikyou seem like such a strange match, but if you go down deeper it really does make sense. Onigumo loved Kikyou and those feelings stayed with Naraku. And even though he has removed and reabsorbed his human heart over and over again, it doesn't mean he can't still have feeling for the woman he (Onigumo) used to love. It's a complicated relationship since Kikyou despises him, but there is always room for second chances.
