Inuyasha struggles to get out of bed at the sound of someone at the door. Being as
quick as he can he throws a shirt and jeans on then walks over to the door.
"What do you want? It's three in the morning." Inuyasha asked with his eyes still
closed.
"Inuyasha, you haven't changed at all."
Inuyasha couldn't believe it; he opened his eyes at hearing that voice, the voice
that he hadn't heard for five years. It was her, Kikyo. She was standing soaking wet
at his door so Inuyasha knew she must have walked to his apartment.
"What are you doing here Kikyo?" Inuyasha asked more then a little pissed at his
ex-girlfriend.
"I, I need a place to stay." She answered. "Naraku took the apartment when he dumped
me.?
"Come in, I'll get you a towel." Inuyasha offered closing the door and walking to
his bathroom.
"Thank you." Kikyo answered. "I'm sorry I woke you up at such an ungodly hour but I
don't have anywhere else to go."
"Save it." He snapped. "Here, just don't keep me up." Inuyasha handed her a towel
and one of his shirts.
Kikyo nodded and started to dry herself off. Inuyasha chose to go back to bed.
Inuyasha walked into his kitchen to find Kikyo making breakfast. He was in such a
state of shock he had to blink twice just to make sure he was awake.
"What?" Kikyo asked politely. "I always used to make you breakfast."
"That's because you didn't like me eating Ramen all the time." Answered, truth is
told he was annoyed at her. She leaves him out of the blue and then comes back five
years later needing a place to stay? But, it wasn't that bad because at least he got
free meals.
"Kikyo, why are you in Osaka? You moved to Kyoto with Naraku." Inuyasha asked.
"I told you last night, Naraku took everything when I broke up with him." Kikyo
explained. "I know you have every right to hate me Inuyasha." Inuyasha looked her in
the eyes. Shock was apparent on his face.
"What?" Inuyasha said out of loss for words.
"No,"Kikyo said. "It's true. I ran off with another guy out of the blue because I
didn't know Kagome was your cousin. You had every right to leave me out on the
streets last night, so why didn?t you?"
"I'm not so cold hearted that I'd leave a woman out on the street." Inuyasha answered.
Kikyo turned around, a gentle smile was on her face. She always knew Inuyasha would
protect her that's why she loved him.
He was her knight, clad in blue denim armor and a black leather shield. He always
put her in front of himself. How could she have run off with that jerk Naraku? Even
she didn't know. Kikyo started to cry because of this. How could she have hurt him
so much? Strong warm arms embraced her. Kikyo looked up into Inuyasha?s eyes.
"I'm sorry Inuyasha. I should have realized what I was doing. I'm so sorry I hurt
you." She cried into his shirt.
Inuyasha looked down at Kikyo. Yeah, that's her all right. You haven't changed at
all have you Kikyo?
Flashback
Inuyasha was just at the front doors of the school, he knew he was ten minutes early
which gave him time to put all the stuff in his backpack into his locker. He reached
for the handle and then, he saw her. A raven haired beauty was sitting on one of the
school's benches her head cupped into her hands crying. Inuyasha walked over to
her.
"Are you okay miss?" He asked.
The girl shook her head unwilling to tell him the problem.
"Do you need me to take you down to the nurse?" Inuyasha asked.
"No," She answered. "Please, just leave me alone."
"God damn it! Bitch! I'm trying to help you!" Inuyasha yelled at her while pulling
her hands away.
Inuyasha felt Kikyo wrapped her arms around him and cry into his shirt. He just held
her there unsure of what to do. But, maybe this was all she needed. Someone to hold
her when she cried.
End Flashback
"It's okay, I'm not going to throw you out to the dogs like that jerk Naraku."
Inuyasha promised her.
"But I shouldn't be here." Kikyo argued. "I'm nothing but trouble to you."
"Kikyo, where have you been? I loved you. Why didn't you believe that?" He asked.
"I.. I don't know." She stammered. " I thought you would be better of without me."
Inuyasha kissed her on the lips then walked into his bedroom. When he came out he
took Kikyo's finger and placed a gold ring with rubies encrusted on it onto her
hand.
Kikyo gasped in surprised. "Inuyasha?"
"Will you marry me Kikyo?" He asked of her.
